Hello there. I hope you’re having a great week! The sun has finally decided to appear and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous! Typically though I’ve left a lot of my summery clothes back home but I can’t wait to get my hands on them. I’m heading back tomorrow for a week’s visit home before coming back to my university house to sort out my postgraduate applications and other admin stuff, like doctor’s appointments and boring things. But I do have to say things have been really lovely and relaxed since my essays have been in. There’s been lots of catching up with people and good byes and celebrations, but it’s been really great to have a change of events. As much as I enjoy writing essays it can get a little monotonous at times, but I know very soon the boredom will kick in and I’ll be itching to do some more reading!
Last weekend was the end of year ball on my university campus. The end of year ball is a big event at the end of the academic year where hundreds of students gather together for a night of celebrating. There was live music (and the first time I’ve seen Tom Odell), chocolate fountains, a fun fair, burger stalls, and the inside of the union building was transformed into a fantastical underwater-themed world. It was really great. Of course, I drank a little too much, especially considering I’m not supposed to be drinking at the moment, but it was a really good laugh and it was wonderful to bump into some of my friends. It’s really sad that I won’t get to see everyone as frequently as I’d wish to, but I’m sure our paths will cross again. Here are some snaps from the end of year ball. I decided to go for a long flowing printed lace dress in navy and cream, and I accessorised with some bright red accessories to give a pop of colour. Any one who knows me will know how much I love the colour red; it is my favourite to brighten up an outfit, particularly if worn as a bright red lip!
This is me with my wonderful friend Juliet who I miss already! My dress is by Fire Los Angeles and I bought it at TK Maxx for a mere £16.99! I’m really into bright prints and I thought this dress could be dressed up or down. The lipstick I’m wearing is one of my favourite red shades, and is the Bourjois Rouge Edition in No.13. It’s finish is satiny and very moisturising. I also recently purchased Barry M’s nail paint in Bright Red, which was a perfect match. My bag is by Golunski and was also from TK Maxx…can you guess how much I like it there yet?! It was great to get dressed up for a change; unfortunately this doesn’t happen as much as I’d like!
This is my wonderful friend Amy, and I’m very fortunate to have bumped into her as I don’t see her very often. This was just after I scoffed a burger waiting for my friends to go on the dodgems…the perks of not being able to go on funfair rides I guess! Burgers are always acceptable, right?
Well I think it’s safe to say we were all a little bit tipsy on this picture, but these are some of my other lovely friends and it was a pleasure to spend the night celebrating with them.
This is my make up look. I kept my eyes fairly simple to let the red lip stand out. Luckily my hair was behaving and dried to soft waves, so I didn’t actually style it at all! It was a really enjoyable night and I’m sad it’s over if I’m honest!
Yesterday was a fantastic day. I got to see Amy (pictured above) for one last little coffee catch-up. It was emotional having to say good bye but I’m so glad I met her. She’s such a wonderful person, and never fails to put a smile on my face. I’ll miss seeing her around so often. I also got together with a few of the Hull Bloggers for some retail therapy and a good natter. You can check out their blogs; Charley , Jenny and Beckie . It was lovely to spend the afternoon with them wandering around Hull, especially as the weather was so beautiful. I’m hoping we’ll have another catch-up very soon!
Well I came to my room about an hour ago and vowed that I would start packing/tidying up…unfortunately that hasn’t happened and I’ve just been watching friends and eating Angel Delight. Send me some motivation; I’d seriously appreciate it!
Hope you’ve been having a great week.
Look after yourself!
